Speaker

As a motivational or inspirational speaker, what sets me apart is all the steps and paths that I have been led down in life has led me to becoming a public speaker. Whether I was aware of it or not, everything I have done in life has led me to this moment. One of the most unique things in my eyes that I have gone through is that no matter what obstacles that have come across my path I have always been able to overcome them. Whether that be playing football, basketball, swimming, rock climbing, and many more. I have never let my disability or “handicap” get in my way. I have always had the attitude or “If others can do it. Then why can’t I!” Another unique experience that I have gone through is even though I look different than other people I have never seen myself as “different” so to speak.
At a young age I did see myself as “different” and even asked my mother “Mom. Why don’t I look normal?” But as I grew older, I realized this is far from through truth. I may be missing appendages, but I am just like everyone else and in some ways more! All my life I have had to do things slightly different than others, but I have always found a way to get the job done. It all comes back to the statement of “If others can do it. Then why can’t I?”
I think the best way that I can and have inspired others that do not share the same physical challenges as me is “If I can do it, so can you!” I think the best representation for me is to show others that even with a disability all things are possible and that you should have zero excuses to chase your dreams. The only true excuse is the one that you give yourself. Throughout my life I have always had people come up to me in the gym, walking on the street, and basically anywhere I have gone and said that I have inspired them to do better in life because they saw that even though I had a disability I was still able to overcome every obstacle in my path
